Wake Forest Head Coach Danny Manning
Opening Statement...
"This game had a lot of offensive fire power by both teams. I thought both teams did a good job, especially in the second half, of scoring the basketball. I think for us, in the first half we were able to establish a little bit of a lead. I think a lot of that had to do with the defense we were able to play. We shot the ball at a high clip in the first half. In the second half they cut our lead. We would go on a pretty good run, and they would cut our lead again. I thought our guys did a good job of facing that adversity throughout the course of the ball game. Their press in the second half initially gave us some problems. We didn't attack the pressure the way we wanted to. We did a better job of that later on in the second half which led to some easy dunks for us. All-in-all this is a step in the right direction and is something we have to continue to work and get better. It is something we can definitely build on and take on the road with us to our next game."

On John Collins' performance...
"John Collins had an outstanding line. He shoots the ball 11 times and gets 27 points. That's really efficient. That's high level playing. I thought tonight was the best job that he did of posting up, drawing fouls, and getting to the free-throw line. That's something that he's been working on, and he's been doing a really good job with that."

On closing out the game...
"We finished tonight. We did a better job of finishing tonight. We haven't done that in the games that we had leads at halftime coming into the second half."

Wake Forest redshirt sophomore guard Keyshawn Woods
On tonight's game...
"I feel like we did a great job of starting out defensively, getting John Collins going early and getting others going early. We wanted to keep the same energy we had from the Carolina game in the second half and we did that."

On the injury to his right hand...
"It's probably a little stinger because I fell on it in the corner there, but it'll be alright."

Wake Forest sophomore forward John Collins
On Miami's near comeback...
"We just told everybody to settle down. All we have to do is take care of the ball and all they're trying to do is pressure us. I think we did a better job than we usually do tonight at handling that pressure."

On scoring a career high 27 points against his hometown team Miami...
"It's no secret that the two schools that I was choosing between were Wake Forest and Miami so it was a little bit personal for me to go up agianst Coach L and the Hurricanes. That school was right up the street from me so I definitly had a little bit of edge going in there tonight."

Miami Head Coach Jim Larrañaga
Opening Statement...
"I just thought Wake Forest played great from start to finish and we could never stop them."

On the high number of fouls during the game...
"We're one of the best teams in the country at not fouling...so I'll have to go back and look at the tape to know if we actually did commit a lot of those fouls. Whether we did or didn't, the officials saw it a certain way and they made their calls. You have to play the game the way it's being called that night. Wake Forest had guys foul out, we had guys foul out. Like I said, I thought Wake Forest played great. Everything they tried to execute worked."

On if anything Wake Forest did during the game surprised Miami...
"No, we knew exactly what Wake Forest was going to do. They do a lot of the same things we do, but they did them better."
