PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas -- Former Wake Forest women's golf standout Olafia Kristinsdottir makes her LPGA Tour debut this week with the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic at the Ocean Club Golf Course. The tournament begins Thursday and runs through Sunday.

Kristinsdottir earned her tour card with a runner-up finish at last month's LPGA Q School event. As she makes her tour debut she will be playing in the same group as her former Wake Forest teammate Cheyenne Woods.

Kristinsdottir, who played for the Demon Deacons from 2011-14, is the first Iceland native to play on the LPGA Tour. That fact is bringing her fame in her homeland, as featured by GolfWeek.

Coverage of the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic will be available every day of the tournament on the Golf Channel.
