WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - A second half run by the Demon Deacons sealed their first conference win of the season over Boston College Tuesday night at the LJVM Coliseum.

Trailing 43-42 with 15:01 remaining in the contest, Wake Forest (10-5, 1-2 ACC) went on a 22-5 run in the middle of the half to gain a 16-point advantage over Boston College (8-7, 1-1 ACC). The Deacs dominated on defense during the run, limiting the Eagles to 0-for-8 from the field.

Eight Demon Deacons scored in the contest, including four in double-digits. John Collins led the Deacs with 17 points, 10 of which came in the first half. Konstantinos Mitoglou recorded 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting while Austin Arians and Bryant Crawford finished with 12 points and 11 points, respectively.

Seven Demon Deacons scored in the tightly contested first half. After an early three from Arians, the teams battled for the advantage throughout the half. Boston College gained a four-point lead with 3:20 remaining but went 1-for-5 in the final minutes to take a two-point lead, 37-35, into the locker room.

The Deacs found themselves trailing entering the second half for just the second time this season as Boston College continued to hold the lead for the opening minutes of the second half. However, the Eagles would go on to shoot 24.0 percent in the second half to finish the game with a 36.2 shooting percentage marking the fourth time this season the Deacs limited their opponents to a shooting percentage under 40 percent. The Deacs shot 54.2 percent in the second half, including 57.1 from behind the arc.

The Deacs dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Eagles 41-29. Keyshawn Woods led the Demon Deacons with a career high eight rebounds.

Wake Forest hits the road to take on Virginia Saturday, Jan. 8. Tip-off in Charlottesville is set for 8 p.m.

DOUBLE DIGIT DEACS
John Collins, Dinos Mitoglou, Austin Arians, and Bryant Crawford all scored in double digits with 17, 15, 12, and 11 points respectively.
• The 12 points for Arians are now a new ACC career high.

MOVING UP THE RECORD BOOKS
Mitchell Wilbekin is now tied for 11th in three-pointers made with 121. Wilbekin shares the 11th spot with Travis McKie (2011-14).
• Wilbekin has now attempted 327 three-pointers. Wilbekin surpasses Steven Goolsby (1995-98) to take the 12th spot.

DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE
• Wake Forest held the Boston College Eagles to a field-goal percentage of 36.2% (21-58). This is the fourth time this season the Deacs have held a team to under 40% field-goals made.
• The Deacs outrebounded the Eagles 40-29 with 32 rebounds being defensive.

UP NEXT
• The Demon Deacons visit No. 11 Virginia on Sunday night.
• Virginia will be the fourth ranked opponent Wake Forest will play this season, all away from home.
• The Cavaliers won last year's meeting in Winston-Salem, 72-71, as Darius Thompson made a game-winning three-pointer as time expired.
