CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Wake Forest men's basketball team defeated Boston College 85-80 Tuesday night for its first season sweep of an opponent since 2011-12.

The win is also the first for the Demon Deacons inside Boston College's Conte Forum since a 71-56 victory in 2012.

John Collins recorded his fifth-straight 20-point game with 26 points while also matching a career high 16 rebounds. Collins has now recorded nine double-doubles this season.

Bryant Crawford finished the night with 15 points while matching an ACC-career high nine assists. Austin Arians added an ACC-career high 14 points for the Deacs to wrap up double figure scoring.

Keyshawn Woods recorded a career high nine assists while pulling down six rebounds for the Deacs.

Collins put the Deacs (13-9, 4-6 ACC) up early with two quick baskets but Boston College (9-14, 2-8 ACC) managed to gain a 6-4 lead. Wake Forest came right back to take a 12-8 advantage into the first media time out. However, the Deacs went on a scoring drought for over four minutes, allowing the Eagles to cut down the lead to just one, 12-11. The Deacs fought back and went on an 11-2 run to gain a 10-point advantage with just under eight minutes to go. The Eagles continued to fight, bringing the score within two with just over three minutes remaining, but the Deacs took the 36-33 advantage into the locker rooms at the half.

The Eagles came out of the break ready for a comeback. BC managed to tie the score at 42-all and build its way up to a six-point lead with just under 11 minutes remaining. However, the Deacs took advantage of a two-minute scoring drought by the Eagles and went on a 6-0 run to tie the game at 64-all with seven minutes to go. After a BC timeout, Collins nailed a jumper to give the Deacs the lead for the first time in over eight minutes. The Deacs extended their run to 14-0, with Collins scoring 13 of those points. The Eagles managed to pull within two with two minutes remaining but the Deacs held on for the 85-80 victory.

The Demon Deacons return home Saturday, Feb. 4 against Georgia Tech. Tip-off inside the LJVM Coliseum is set for 3 p.m.
