GREENSBORO, N.C. - Bayley Feist was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday (Oct. 17).
The junior midfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio earned the award after her two-goal performance in Wake Forest's victory over No. 16 Florida State on Oct. 15. It was the first win over the Seminoles since a 2-0 decision in 2011.
This is the second ACC Player of the Week nod for the Demon Deacons this year, as Maddie Huster was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week Aug. 29. The last time the Deacs had two weekly conference honors in one season was in 2011 when Katie Stengel won the award twice.
Feist broke a 225-minute scoring drought that dated back to the Demon Deacons' 2-1 victory over Notre Dame on Sept. 29 when she shot from 10 yards out to give the Deacs a 1-0 lead. She struck again in the 51st minute when she knocked in a header on off a long free kick to tally the game-winning goal.
Feist now leads the Demon Deacons with six goals this season, surpassing her total of five goals in 2016.
Up next, the Demon Deacons travel to Louisville, Kentucky to face Louisville on Thursday, Oct. 19. The game is set for 7 p.m.
