The Matchup
• The No. 15-ranked Demon Deacons travel to Louisville to face the Cardinals on Thursday, Oct. 19. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out
• A pair of goals from Bayley Feist gave the Deacs a 2-1 victory over No. 16 Florida State. It was the first victory over the Seminoles since a 2-0 decision on Sept. 15, 2011.
Wake Forest Storylines
• Wake Forest women's soccer debuted in the national rankings for the first time since 2014 the week of Aug. 28 after starting the season 4-0-0. Currently, the Demon Deacons are ranked No. 15 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, No. 8 in the Soccer America poll and No. 10 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll. The Deacs also debuted at No. 15 in the NCAA RPI and moved to No. 19 this week.
• The Demon Deacon defense is among the best in the conference. Wake Forest's 0.65 GAA is fifth in the league while the 10 goals allowed is tied for fourth. The Deacs' eight shutouts are tied for third in the league. Lindsay Preston sits fourth in the ACC in goals against average (0.67) and fifth in save percentage (.808).
• The Deacs are currently 4-2-1 in conference play, the most victories since 2013 when they tallied five ACC wins.
• Wake Forest finished the 2016 slate with seven regular-season shutout victories, just three shy of the program record of 10 set in 2006 and 2009. The Demon Deacons have recorded six shutout victories this season through 15 games and have recorded eight total shutouts this season, the most since 2013.
• Last season, the Deacs were 5-6-0 in one-goal games. This season, Wake Forest holds a 5-1-0 record in one-goal games.
Feist Earns Weekly Honors
• Due to her performance against Florida State, Bayley Feist earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 17 as well as a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week for Oct. 9-15.
• Both Feist and Maddie Huster have earned weekly conference honors this season. The last time the Deacs received two weekly conference honors in one season was in 2011 when Katie Stengel earned the honor twice.
Scouting the Cardinals
• This will be the fourth all-time meeting between the Cardinals and the Demon Deacons, with Wake Forest holding a 3-0-0 advantage. It is also the first meeting to be held in Louisville. The teams last met Oct. 31, 2015 in Spry Stadium where the Deacs won, 2-1.
• The Cardinals have a 9-6-0 record this season, including a 3-4-0 mark in conference play. They are coming off a 3-0 victory over Pitt.
• Freshman Emina Ekic leads the Cardinals with seven goals and three assists this season while sophomores Brooklynn Rivers and Allison Whitfield have four goals each.
• Redshirt freshman keeper Gabby Kouzelos has all of the decisions in goal for the Cardinals and has a 1.16 GAA and a .707 save percentage.
