The Matchup
• No. 15-ranked Wake Forest plays its final road game of the regular season, traveling to Clemson for a 1 p.m. game on Sunday on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest battled Louisville to a 0-0 draw on Thursday, Oct. 19. The Deacs are now 0-0-3 in overtime contests, all of which have finished in scoreless ties.
• Lindsay Preston recorded a season-high eight saves as the defense dominated the game for the Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest Storylines
• Wake Forest women's soccer debuted in the national rankings for the first time since 2014 the week of Aug. 28 after starting the season 4-0-0. Currently, the Demon Deacons are ranked No. 15 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, No. 8 in the Soccer America poll and No. 10 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll. The Deacs also debuted at No. 15 in the NCAA RPI and moved to No. 19 this week.
• The Demon Deacon defense is among the best in the conference. Wake Forest's 0.60 GAA is third in the league while the 10 goals allowed is tied for third. The Deacs' nine shutouts are tied for second in the league. Lindsay Preston leads the conference with her .833 save percentage while her 0.63 goals against average sits third in the ACC.
• The Deacs are currently 4-2-2 in conference play, the most victories since 2013 when they tallied five ACC wins.
• Wake Forest finished the 2016 slate with seven regular-season shutout victories, just three shy of the program record of 10 set in 2006 and 2009. The Demon Deacons have recorded six shutout victories this season through 16 games and have recorded nine total shutouts this season, the most since they also recorded nine in 2012.
• Last season, the Deacs were 5-6-0 in one-goal games. This season, Wake Forest holds a 5-1-0 record in one-goal games.
Scouting the Tigers
• Clemson holds a 14-9-4 series advantage while owning an 8-5-2 advantage in Clemson over the Deacs. The teams last met Sept. 16, 2016 in Spry Stadium where the Tigers won, 2-1.
• The Tigers have an 8-5-2 record this season, including a 2-4-2 mark in conference play. They are coming off a 1-0 loss to NC State and a 0-0 draw with Virginia.
• Freshman Mariana Speckmaier leads the Tigers with six goals, closely followed by Jenna Polonsky with five. Both Speckmaier and Polonsky have double-digit point totals with 13 each (Speckmaier - 6g, 1a, Polonsky - 5g, 3a).
•Reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Week sophomore keeper Sandy MacIver has a 6-4-2 record in goal. She boasts a .824 save percentage and has allowed only ten goals this season.
