Deacs Hit The Road
• Wake Forest opens play at the Lady Rebel Round-Up against Minnesota on Saturday, Nov. 25, in Las Vegas, Nev. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. (ET).
• The Deacs will face Minnesota in the opening round of competition while host UNLV will face Hofstra in the other opening-round contest. The winners and losers will then pair up on Sunday.
Last Time Out
• Ariel Stephenson scored a career-high 25 points in a losing effort as Wake Forest fell to Rutgers on the road, 65-51.
• Stephenson topped her previous career-high of 24, which she set against Miami a year ago, on 7-of-17 shooting from the field and 8-of-10 from the free throw line.
• Tyra Whitehead brought down a team-best nine rebounds while freshman Gina Conti led the team with four assists.
Wake Forest Storylines
• The Deacs have outrebounded their opponent in all four games this season and rank second in the league in offensive rebounds per game with 18.8.
• Sophomore Tyra Whitehead finished 9-of-10 from the field and scored a career-high 23 points in her first-career start against Texas Southern. She then followed with a doubles-double, the first of her career, against Seton Hall with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
• Elisa Penna was named preseason All-ACC by the league's coaches after leading the team in scoring (13.4 ppg) and finishing third on the team in rebounds (5.7 rpg) a season ago.
Scouting The Field
• Minnesota (5-0), UNLV (3-0) and Hofstra (2-2) join Wake Forest in the tournament field. Wake Forest has never faced Minnesota and UNLV before and last faced Hofstra in 1990.
Next Time Out
• The Deacs remain on the road to take on Penn State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m.
