Deacs Face Nittany Lions in Big Ten/ACC Challenge
• Wake Forest closes out a five-game road stretch on Thursday, Nov. 30, as the Demon Deacons head to University Park, Pennsylvania, to take on Penn State in the 11th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
• Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed online through BTN2Go.
Last Time Out
• Alex Sharp was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Lady Rebel Round-Up as Wake Forest concluded an 0-2 trip to Las Vegas.
• Against Minnesota in the opening round of play, Sharp tied a career-high with 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting. In the consolation game against Hofstra, the sophomore from Melbourne, Australia recorded her first-career double-double with 10 points a career-high 15 rebounds (including 10 offensive boards).
Wake Forest Storylines
• The Deacs have outrebounded their opponent five-of-six games to start the season and rank second in the league in offensive rebounds per game with 18.5.
• Sophomore Tyra Whitehead finished 9-of-10 from the field and scored a career-high 23 points in her first-career start against Texas Southern. She then followed with a doubles-double, the first of her career, against Seton Hall with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
• Elisa Penna was named preseason All-ACC by the league's coaches after leading the team in scoring (13.4 ppg) and finishing third on the team in rebounds (5.7 rpg) a season ago.
Scouting the Opponent
• Penn State enters Thursday's contest with a 5-2 record on the year after dropping a pair of games at the South Point Shootout in Last Vegas.
• The Nittany Lions are led by Amari Carter and Jaida Travascio-Green, as the duo averages 1.6 and 13.9 points per game, respectively.
Next Time Out
• The Deacs return home for the first time since November 12 to take on in-state foe Elon on Saturday, Dec. 2. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. inside the LJVM Coliseum.
