Deacs Return Home
• After playing six of its last seven games on the road, Wake Forest returns home to open a three-game homestand on Thursday, Dec. 7, against App State.
• Tip-off inside the LJVM Coliseum is set for 7 p.m.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons won their second consecutive game with a 62-57 victory over Xavier on Monday.
• After leading by as many as 16 on the road, the Deacs had to withstand an 18-1 third quarter Xavier run and come back against the Musketeers. Trailing for the first time with 4:40 left to play, Wake Forest would go on to score the final six points of the contest.
• Ariel Stephenson led all scorers with 18 points while Elisa Penna (14) Amber Campbell (11) and Alex Sharp (11) scored in double figures as well.
Wake Forest Storylines
• The Deacs have outrebounded their opponent six-of-nine games to start the season and rank tied for fifth in the league with 16.4 offensive rebounds per game with 16.4. Their 395 total rebounds are 14th-best in the country.
• Senior Amber Campbell continues her rise up the Wake Forest scoring charts as she currently ranks 13th all-time in program history with 1,260 career points.
• Elisa Penna was named preseason All-ACC by the league's coaches after leading the team in scoring (13.4 ppg) and finishing third on the team in rebounds (5.7 rpg) a season ago.
Scouting The Opponent
• Appalachian State enters Thursday's contest 1-7 overall, falling to ACC foe North Carolina, 56-43, last time out.
• Tierra Wilson paces the Mountaineers as she averages 11.4 points per game. Forward Bayley Plummer handles a majority of the rebounding duties with 12.3 per game.
• The team is led by fourth-year head coach Angel Elderkin.
