WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Milan Quinn recorded a career-high 25 points as Wake Forest defeated Pittsburgh 57-48 Sunday afternoon in the LJVM Coliseum.

Quinn finished with 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting while going 7-of-10 from the line. She also pulled down 16 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season.

Amber Campbell recorded 10 points for the Deacs to move into to 21st place on the all-time scoring list with 1,080 career points while Ariel Stephenson tallied a career-high eight assists.

Down one with 8:50 left in the contest, the Demon Deacon defense held Pitt to 26.7 percent from the field in the final frame to earn the nine-point victory.

The Demon Deacons (14-9, 5-5 ACC) started off solid and built an early 4-0 lead. The Panthers (12-11, 3-7 ACC) came back to tie the game at 5-all but the Deacs held the Panthers without a field goal for the last seven minutes of the first quarter to build a 14-9 lead. In the second quarter, the Panthers chipped away at the Deacs' lead before taking an 18-16 advantage. The Deacs trailed until a jumper from Quinn with under a minute to go gave the Wake Forest a 24-23 advantage heading to the locker rooms.

Wake Forest maintained the lead throughout the third quarter, despite Pitt hanging tough. The Panthers managed to take the lead off a jumper by Kalista Walters with 8:50 remaining in the contest before the Deacs clamped down on defense. Quinn recorded six of her 16 rebounds in the fourth quarter while the Deacs combined for four offensive and eight defensive rebounds while holding the Panthers to just nine points.

The Demon Deacons hit the road to take on Florida State Thursday, Feb. 9. Tip-off in Tallahassee, Fla. is set for 7 p.m.
