DEACS MEET KANSAS STATE IN FIRST FOUR
• Wake Forest will play Kansas State in the First Four in Dayton on Tuesday
• The winner will be the No. 11 seed in the South Region and will play No. 6 seed Cincinnati in the first round on Friday in Sacramento, Calif.
• Wake Forest is the third ACC team to play in the First Four, joining Clemson in 2011 and NC State in 2014 (Both Clemson and NC State won their First Four game)
NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
• The Deacs are making their 23rd NCAA Tournament appearance and first since reaching the second round in 2010
• Wake Forest has a 28-22 all-time record in the event
• The Demon Deacons reached the Final Four in 1962
• The No. 11 seed is the lowest seed the Deacs have had in their NCAA history
• Wake Forest has won at least one game in 17 of 22 previous NCAA appearances
• In Wake Forest's last NCAA Tournament appearance, the Deacs also opened against a Big XII foe, defeating Texas in the 2010 first round 81-80 in New Orleans on Ish Smith's game-winner
SERIES HISTORY
• The First Four contest will be the first all-time meeting between Wake Forest and Kansas State
• It is the first time the Deacs have played a Big XII opponent in the Danny Manning era
• As a player, Manning's Kansas teams posted an 8-2 record against Kansas State from 1985-88
