
Demon Deacons Finish Strong in Three-Meet Weekend

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Two event titles were claimed and 12 Demon Deacons finished in the top ten of their respective events as the Wake Forest men's and women's track and field programs completed competition in High Point's VertKlasse Meeting and the Pepsi Florida Relays Saturday.
Jen Esposito won her third 400m Hurdles event title of the season while the 4x400m Relay team consisting of Maya Hinton, Amy Collins, Jordan Banks and Esposito claimed the gold as well to earn two event titles for the Demon Deacons.
Twelve individuals or relay teams finished in the top-10 of their respective events while eight of those were within the top five.
Dakota Greenwalt kicked off Saturday's competition with a 13th-place finish in the men's 800m Run. His time of 1:56.78 was good for a season best, replacing the 1:57.42 he achieved at the Bob Davidson Spring Kick-Off in March.
Kaleb Bryant was next on the track for the men in the 400m Dash. His time of 50.55 was a season best by a slight margin of 0.03. Bryant finished 25th overall in the event.
Bobby Jacowleff finished 13th in the men's 400m Hurdles with a time of 55.02 while Nick Beglane landed a 22nd-overall finish with a season-best time of 57.28.
The 4x100m Relay team consisting of Kaleb Bryant, Jalen Latter, Josh Okonye and John Armstrong took seventh with a time of 42.10, their fastest time this season.
The 4x400m Relay team consisting Jacolweff, John Archie, Beglane and Bryant finished second with a time of 3:21.31.
In the field, Kyle Johnson finished fourth in the men's Hammer Throw with a best mark of 57.73m (189' 5").
On the track for the women, Esposito claimed her third event title of the season in the women's 400m Hurdles with a season-best time of 59.32. Esposito earned event titles at the Bob Davidson Spring Kick-Off and Raleigh Relays as well. Emma Gallagher finished ninth in the event with a personal best time of 1:03.34. Madeline Ward finished 28th in the women's 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:08.89.
Hinton took 18th place in the women's 400m Dash with a time of 59.82.
Hunter Roberts took second in the women's 100m Hurdles with a personal best time of 13.77. Collins finished 22nd in the women's 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.02. Competing in only her second career 100m Hurdles event, Banks took 34th with a time of 15.86, almost three seconds faster than her previous time of 18.23.
Lara-Ann Schwede took fifth in the 800m Run with a time of 2:14.78.
The women's 4x400m Relay team consisting of Hinton, Collins, Banks and Esposito took the gold with a season-best time of 3:51.63 while the Relay team consisting of Ward, Schwede, Gallagher and Roberts took eighth with a time of 4:06.05.
In the field, Collins tied for second in the women's High Jump after clearing a season-best height of 1.67m (5' 5.75"). Jessica Molina finished 10th in the women's Hammer Throw with a season-best mark of 50.82m (166' 9") and Tesia Kempski took fourth in the women's Pole Vault after clearing the 3.70m (12' 1.5") bar.
At the Pepsi Florida Relays, Max Adams finished 13th in the men's Discus Invite with a best mark of 47.97m (157' 4"). In the Shot Put, he placed 18th with a throw of 15.02m (49' 3.5").
The Demon Deacons will continue their outdoor season April 14-15 at the Charlotte Invitational.
