AUSTIN, Texas – The Wake Forest men's golf team continued play at the NCAA Austin Regional with Tuesday's second round at the University of Texas Golf Club. The Demon Deacons shot a 9-over 293 to finish the day tied for seventh place at 19-over.
The top five teams at the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships. The Demon Deacons are tied with NC State and Georgia Southern for seventh place and are among six teams within five strokes of fourth place. Iowa State is in fourth at 14-over, Arizona State is in the fifth and final qualifying spot at 15-over, College of Charleston is sixth at 18-over, one shot ahead of the three-way tie.
"We played much better than our scores indicate," said head coach Jerry Haas. "We have to keep battling and have all five players into their round. This team is resilient and I expect a very good effort from the Deacs tomorrow."
Cameron Young posted the low score of the day for the Demon Deacons with an even par 71. Will Zalatoris had a 1-over 72 on Tuesday and is tied for seventh place on the individual leaderboard at 1-under for the tournament.

The tournament concludes Wednesday at the University of Texas Golf Club.
