WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest golfer Jennifer Kupcho will conclude her sophomore season this week as she competes as an individual at the 2017 NCAA Women's Golf Championship. The tournament will begin on Friday at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill., with individual play concluding on Monday.
Kupcho advanced to the NCAA Championship after winning the individual title at the NCAA Athens Regional. She shot 10-under during that tournament to post a five-shot victory. It is her second appearance at the NCAA Championship, having finished T-6th at last year's event in Eugene, Ore.
Kupcho is currently ranked No. 3 nationally in the GolfStat individual rankings and was named a candidate for the WGCA Player of the Year Award. An All-ACC selection, she has posted three victories in 2016-17, highlighted by last week's win in Athens. Her 70.39 scoring average is on pace to break the single season school record by nearly three strokes while she has posted seven top-five finishes. Her current streak of 12 consecutive rounds under par is a school record.
The first three rounds of the NCAA Championship will be held Friday-Sunday with a final round on Monday for players and teams that make the cut. The final round on Monday will air live on the Golf Channel.
