WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest will begin preparations for the 2017 football season with a 7:45 am practice on Friday, July 28 at the Doc Martin Football Practice Complex and McCreary Field House.
The Demon Deacons will go through 28 practices before opening the season on Thursday, August 31 at BB&T Field against Presbyterian.
The Deacons will practice early in the morning for most of the initial practices as the majority of players remain enrolled in summer school. Final exams conclude on August 11.
"We are excited to get started this year," said head coach Dave Clawson. "The Military Bowl victory gave the team a great deal of momentum that has carried through spring football and our summer conditioning program. We are anxious to keep that momentum going on the practice field."
Construction will continue at the practice complex throughout the 2017 season as crews work on the Sutton Sports Performance Center. Because the entire area remains an active construction zone, on-campus practices will be closed to the public for their safety and protection.
