The Matchup
• Wake Forest will open the regular season on the road at Georgia and Davidson. The Demon Deacons will face the Georgia Bulldogs on Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. and the Davidson Wildcats on Aug. 20 at 2 p.m.

Wake Forest Storylines
• The Demon Deacons went 2-0 in exhibition play, with a 2-0 win over NC State and a 5-1 victory over William & Mary. Five different Deacs tallied goals, including Maddie Huster and Hannah Betfort with two goals each and Claudia Day, Lily Schneider and Abby McNamara with one goal each.
• The Deacs are returning their top three scorers from last season in Peyton Perea, Maddie Huster and Bayley Feist. The trio also finished the 2016 campaign with double-digit point totals as Huster recorded five goals and four assists for 14 points, Perea finished with six goals for 12 points and Feist had five goals and two assists for 12 points.
• Wake Forest is returning 19 members from the 2016 roster while welcoming seven freshmen.

Opponent and Series History
• This will be the seventh all-time meeting between the Demon Deacons and the Bulldogs. The Deacs hold a 2-1-3 advantage, including the last meeting in which Wake Forest defeated Georgia, 4-0, in Spry Stadium on Aug. 23, 2015. The Deacs last played in Athens, Ga. on Sept. 3, 2001. That contest ended in a 0-0 draw after two overtime periods.
• The Bulldogs went 1-1 in exhibition play, falling to No. 10 Auburn, 3-2, and defeating Georgia Southern, 3-0. Last season, the team went 6-11-1.
• The Deacs hold a 12-1-0 all-time advantage over the Davidson Wildcats, including an 11-game winning streak dating back to the 1996 season. The Deacs lead 5-1-0 in Davidson and took a 5-1 victory the last time the teams played in Alumni Stadium on Aug. 28, 2005.
• Davidson played Campbell to a 1-1 draw in exhibition play. Last season, the Wildcats went 5-13-1.

Looking Ahead
• Wake Forest returns to Spry Stadium for its home opener against No. 4 South Carolina on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. The Deacs will then face Charlotte in Spry Stadium on Aug. 27 at 1 p.m.
