LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Wake Forest men's basketball team dropped a road contest at Louisville, 96-77, Saturday night at the KFC Yum! Center.

The Demon Deacons fall to 8-13 on the season, including a 1-8 mark in ACC play, while the Cardinals move to 16-5 with a 6-2 ledger in conference play.

Doral Moore finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season and fourth of ACC play. He opened the first half 3-for-3 from the field, extending his consecutive field goals streak to 14, before missing an attempt. The 14-straight field goals streak is the second longest in school history behind his 16-straight earlier this season.

Chaundee Brown also recorded double digits for the sixth time this season with 20 points. It was his third 20-plus point game of the season while three of his five double-digit games this year have come in conference play.

Bryant Crawford recorded his ninth-straight double-digit game with 19 points. He moves up to 29th in career scoring with 1,279 points.

After the Deacs won the tip, Moore opened scoring with a jumper on the team's first possession. Louisville countered with a basket before the Deacs went on a 6-0 run to take an early six-point lead. The Cardinals closed the gap to two, but a 7-0 run from the Deacs gave them their largest lead of the game at nine points with 14 minutes remaining. However, the Cardinals got hot, hitting 5-of-7 from the field to close the gap to three before another layup cut the Deacs' lead to just one. Louisville took its first lead of the game at 20-19 off a layup from Anas Mahmoud with under nine minutes to go. From there, the Cards extended their run and built up a 12-point lead with two minutes left in the opening frame. Louisville took a 42-33 advantage into halftime.

Moore led the Deacs in the first half with eight points and five rebounds while Crawford had eight points.

The Cardinals opened the second half on a 5-0 run before the Deacs countered with a 5-0 run of their own off a jumper from Brown and a triple from Crawford. However, the Cardinals shot 73 percent from the field in the first six minutes of the half to quickly build up a 15-point lead. The Cards continued to pull away and the Deacs could not catch up as they fell 96-77.

Brandon Childress made his first career start Saturday night in place of an injured Mitchell Wilbekin. He finished with seven points and three assists.

Up next, the Demon Deacons return to the LJVM Coliseum to host Florida State on Jan. 31. Tip is set for 8 p.m. on ACC Network affiliates.
