Wake Forest seniors Brad Dunwell and Logan Gdula were invited to participate in the MLS Combine from Jan. 3-9.
NEW YORK -- Wake Forest seniors Brad Dunwell and Logan Gdula were invited to participate in the 2019 adidas MLS Player Combine, the league announced on Thursday.
Dunwell and Gdula are among the 60 players invited from the collegiate ranks to the Combine in Orlando from Jan. 3-9, 2019. They will also eligible for selection in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 11.
All three of Wake Forest's senior starters from 2018 are expected to join the MLS ranks, as Sam Raben has homegrown ties to the Colorado Rapids and is therefore ineligible for the draft.
Wake Forest head coach Bobby Muuss has already sent 12 players to the MLS from his first three teams, including seven after the 2017 season.
A holding midfielder, Dunwell earned second team All-America honors following the 2018 campaign. He started all 91 games in his Demon Deacon career, totaling a goal and 14 assists as he helped Wake Forest win 73 games in that span, more than any other Division I program.
Gdula, an outside back, started all 21 games this year and notched a goal and five assists. He ranked among the team leaders with seven assists in 2017, and finished his career with 77 games played and 60 total starts.
Wake Forest has had a first-round pick in each of the last three MLS SuperDrafts, including Jon Bakero and Ema Twumasi in 2018, Jacori Hayes in 2017 and Jack Harrison in 2016.
