Wake Forest Head Coach Danny Manning
Opening Statement...
"I thought NC State's pressure in the first half put us in a tough spot. We handled the ball well but we had 10 turnovers that just put us in a difficult spot as far as points off turnovers. That put us in a bad situation. In the second half, we did a better job of attacking their pressure later on throughout the course of the ball game but we didn't guard the 3-point line well. They made 11 3-pointers which definitely hurt us. I thought Omer Yurtseven made some tough shots but we didn't do enough on that weak side to set a pick on the outside to take away some of those shots."
On guarding 3-point line...
"I thought a lot of times they got 3-point shots because they forced shots off of dribble penetration which made us rotate. They just moved the ball and made some tough shots on us, especially Allerik Freeman."
NC State Head Coach Kevin Keatts
Opening Statement...
"I'm excited to get another road win today in the ACC. Obviously any time you play on the road in this tough conference, it's going to be a tough battle. I give Wake Forest credit, they battled us all the way until the end. We were fortunate and we made some good plays down the stretch. We found a way to win this game, even when we didn't play well the last eight minutes of the game."
On NC State's three-point shooting...
"I thought it was good. When you look at it, we made 11 threes and shot 45 percent, and on the other end I thought that we did a great job defending the three as well."
On NC State's mental toughness...
"I think that with every game that we win, I think it builds confidence. There are certain games over the season that have helped us like back in the Bahamas vs. Arizona. When you look at our ACC play, our season could have gone a different way if we didn't win that game in Pittsburgh. And every practice we try to make a every situation competitive, and they're playing that way now."
On Allerik Freeman's play this season...
"He's become more mature and more of a leader. He is the only guy on this team that has played meaningful basketball in February, and I think it's finally starting to show it."
