Wake Forest sophomore Omir Fernandez has earned the award for the second-straight week, scoring in all four games over that time.
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Wake Forest sophomore Omir Fernandez has repeated as the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Fernandez was also the Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 10. The Demon Deacons have now had an Offensive Player of the Week in three of the first four weeks of the season, as Bruno Lapa received the honor after the opening weekend.
A midfielder from the Bronx, New York, Fernandez has scored five goals over the last four games, including game-winners in the last three.
Against Georgia Southern on Tuesday, he scored the first goal of the game in the 75th minute to propel the Deacs to the victory.
He added an 84th-minute game-winner at No. 16 Virginia Tech on Friday to cap off Wake Forest's first come-from-behind victory of the year.
Fernandez is tied for the ACC lead with six goals, helping lead Wake Forest to a 7-0-0 overall record, including a 2-0-0 mark in ACC play.
Wake Forest is back in action on Friday, traveling to Clemson at 8 p.m.
