Surratt Named ACC Rookie of the Week

Sage Surratt finished with 11 catches for 150 yards in his collegiate debut against Tulane

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest redshirt freshman wide receiver Sage Surratt on Tuesday was named the ACC Rookie of the Week.

Surratt, a 6-3, 215-pound redshirt freshman wide receiver from Lincolnton, N.C., made his college debut against Tulane and recorded 11 receptions for 150 yards. Surratt had the greatest debut game ever for a Wake Forest wide receiver.

He surpassed the previous school mark for receiving yards in the first game of a career which was 143 yards by Jonathan Williams against Presbyterian in 2013.

Surratt had six receptions for 86 yards in the first quarter and five catches for 64 yards in the third quarter.

Wake Forest plays the first of five straight home games on Saturday, Sept. 8 when the Demon Deacons host Towson at noon at BB&T Field.
