Frishette Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week

Wake Forest senior goalkeeper recorded 16 saves and two solo shutouts
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest women's soccer goalkeeper Nonie Frishette was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Frishette recorded two solo shutouts last week in a 4-0 win over Michigan and a 1-0 upset victory over No. 5 Penn State to move to 3-1-1 on the season.
On Sunday against Penn State, Frishette recorded 12 saves to solidify the victory for the Deacs.
The 12 saves were the most in a single game for Wake Forest in over 20 years and the most in a single game by an ACC team this season.
Frishette boasts a league-leading 32 saves in 2018 along with a 6.40 saves per game average.
Florida State's Yujie Zhao won the Offensive Player of the Week honor after recording a goal and two assists in a 4-1 victory over No. 2 UCLA Sunday.
