Wake Forest senior Logan Gdula was selected No. 13 overall in the MLS SuperDraft.

CHICAGO -- Wake Forest senior Logan Gdula was drafted No. 13 overall in the first round of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft by FC Cincinnati on Friday afternoon.

Gdula becomes Wake Forest's 16th all-time first-round selection, as well as the fifth of the past four seasons.

FC Cincinnati will begin its first season in the MLS as an expansion club after being part of the USL since 2016.

A four-year contributor and three-year starter, Gdula wrapped up his Wake Forest career having played in 77 career games with 60 starts. He finished with 18 points on two goals and 14 assists.

In 2018, he started all 21 games at right back, wrapping up the season with seven points on a goal and five assists. His lone goal came in a 3-2 victory over No. 6 Virginia on Oct. 20, while three of his five assists came against top-15 opponents.

In 2017, Gdula finished tied for third on the team with his seven assists from the back line.

He helped Wake Forest total 46 shutouts over his four seasons, and finished with a 73-11-7 record in his four years, more wins than any other Division I program.

With FC Cincinnati, he will join fellow Deacon alum Corben Bone, who coincidentally was also the No. 13 overall selection in the 2010 SuperDraft.

Rounds three and four of the SuperDraft will be held via a conference call on Monday, Jan. 14  at 1 p.m.
