Boston College head coach Jim Christian
On the contribution from his team today...
"Our guys had to step up and make plays. We had some guys make plays today. Jordan Chatman made plays, Nik Popvic made plays, Steffon Mitchell made plays, Chris Herren made plays -- it's a team effort. It's not one guy. I thought for the most part we had good possessions and got good shots."
On the final shot...
"It's just the way we drew it up. One second on the shot clock, shot fake and knock it in. I thought he had a cleaner look, the possession before, he had a wide-open look from the corner. So Ky (Bowman) is not usually going to miss shot A and I don't know many guys that are going to make shot B -- and that's what makes Ky a great player."
Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning
On the game...
"I thought we came out tonight and BC got all too comfortable of a start, they executed their offense well and made their shots and we fought our way back into it to go into half time with a four-point lead. We came out in the second and at the end of the day turned the ball over too many times. They scored too many points off our turnovers, and we didn't do a good enough job getting the ball to get paint touches. We only made six free-throws, and we needed to get to the free-throw line more than we did. End of the game we lose Chapman a couple of times for some threes, and Bowman hits his only three of the game with a tough acrobatic type shot. That situation, we would like for him to have to shoot over us and not around us."
On end of game offense struggles, missing 8 FG's straight...
"We had opportunities, I mean if we go back to the first half I think we missed 5 layups in the first half of the game as well. So when we get the ball at point blank range we need to finish with strong finishes at the rim. We had some good lucks, but unfortunately shots just didn't go down for us. We probably had some shots in that spell where we could have done a better job of forcing help and kicking it out. But that's what happens, you're not going to make every shot that you take and you gotta think next play and what you can do on the defensive end to get it back for us."
On Jaylen Hoard's performance...
"You know Jaylen for us has 22 points and we would like for him to be a little more assertive, certainly in the moments at the end of the game. But I thought he had some smart plays with passing the ball when a crowd came around him."
On reflecting on Manning's last 5 years, and current 1-6 ACC season:
"I didn't envision starting off this way, and I didn't envision this my first year either. I think the only way to dig our way out is to continue to work, that's it. That's all you can do. Continue to work, continue to battle, continue to fight. Throughout the course of the ball game we have to continue to find ways to be smarter, tougher, to be more engaged and more of everything. That's how you dig yourself out of ruts."

Chaundee Brown...
"We did well in the first half, but we didn't execute the second half. I feel like I could have done better and stayed in front on the last shot, but there is no excuse at this level, especially at this time in the game."
Jaylen Hoard...
"We made some mistakes and you can't win a game like that. This is a lesson we should know by now, there is no "being young". We have a bunch of games under our belts and must hold ourselves accountable. If we make a mistake, there's no pointing fingers. We must own up to our mistakes and work to fix them. Our practices are not translating to the games, so we have to work on staying composed and not getting rushed."
