WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- 10 Wake Forest athletic programs recorded a perfect 100 percent graduation success rate, while the Demon Deacons combined for a GSR of 95 percent, according to the latest data released by the NCAA on Wednesday.

The graduation success rate is designed to show the proportion of student-athletes on any given team who earn a college degree within a six-year period. The latest data shows GSR for students from 2009-12.

The combined 95 percent graduation success rating is tied for the highest the Demon Deacons have registered and the best since the 2002-05 academic years.

"We are proud of the academic accomplishments of our teams and the fact that 10 of the 14 teams had a perfect GSR score of 100, said Jane Caldwell, Sr. Associate AD, S-A Services & Asst. to the Dean. "Our student-athletes work tremendously hard not only on the court and field, but also in the classroom. The overall score of 95 places us in third in the ACC and we attribute this to the support of the coaches who help our student-athletes stay focused in the classroom."

This year's average of 95 stands six points above the national average of 89 percent, an NCAA record. Wake Forest placed third in the ACC, only trailing Notre Dame (98) and Duke (97). The Deacons are tied for fourth in the state of North Carolina.

Baseball, men's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, field hockey and volleyball all registered a perfect 100 percent graduation success rate. Men's and women's track and cross country posted 95 percent.

The NCAA introduced the GSR in 2005 to accurately assess the academic success of student-athletes. The GSR formula removes from the rate student-athletes who leave school while academically eligible and includes student-athletes who transfer to a school after initially enrolling elsewhere.
