Maggio Among Ray Guy's Top 8 Punters for Week 8

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest punter Dom Maggio was one of eight punters across the nation named to Ray's 8 by the Augusta Sports Council and the Ray Guy Award.
Maggio averaged 46.6 yards on eight punts in Wake Forest's 22-20 win over Florida State. He had four punts of 50 yards or more and four punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
"Dom and the punt team did a nice job against Florida State with four punts with over a 45-yard net which is what we are striving to get," said special teams coordinator Wayne Lineburg. "He did a great job at the end, especially getting that last punt off when they were bringing pressure."
Maggio is a 6-3, 190-pound senior from Monkton, Md. (Boys' Latin School). A four-year starter, Maggio is currently third in the ACC in punting with a 45.7 average. He is second in Wake Forest history with 255 career punts and 10,975 punting yards. Maggio has a 43.0 career average and ranks second in school history in career punts and punting yards as well as punts inside the 20 (84) and 50-yard punts (63).
