Deacs Climb to Third at White Sands Intercollegiate

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas. – The Wake Forest men's golf team continued play Saturday at the White Sands Intercollegiate, their final event of the fall season. The Demon Deacons shot 6-under for the second straight round and enter the final day in third place at 12-under.

Houston is the 36-hole leader at 19-under, followed by Florida State at 13-under and the Demon Deacons at 12-under.

Parker Gillam, playing as an individual, continues to lead the tournament. A day after shooting a school-record 60, he shot 73 on Saturday to finish the day at 11-under and holds a three-shot lead.

Among the players in the lineup, Mark Power and Alex Fitzpatrick are also in the individual top 10. Power shot a 5-under 67 on Saturday to end the day T-7th at 6-under. Fitzpatrick is T-9th at 5-under after shooting 69 in the second round. Eugenio Chacarra and Eric Bae each shot a 1-over 73 on Saturday to round out the scoring four for the Demon Deacons.

The tournament concludes Sunday at the Ocean Club.
