Wake Forest Head Coach Dave Clawson

On win over Duke:
"This was a great football game, certainly hats off to Duke. They competed hard and had a lead in the fourth quarter, but it was a great fourth quarter comeback for us. I'm proud of our players, especially because we're a little short-handed at receiver right now. I'd like to thank the fans that came out and stuck it out through the weather. We went into this game and we made a concerted effort to run the football. That was our plan, if we could run it, we would run it with Jamie. That opened things up for us in the passing game where Kendall Hinton made plays for us in a big way. Obviously, our kickoff coverage was atrocious. If we could cover kicks, that wouldn't have been a close game. We aren't kicking well and we aren't covering well. We found a way to overcome it, and we're the Big Four Champions. That was one of our goals this year, beating Carolina, NC State and Duke."

On putting Kendall Hinton in at QB:
"We've practiced scenarios where Jamie (Newman) goes down. If it's a one play injury, then we'll put Kendall Hinton in at QB. When I knew Jamie was able to go back in, I decided to put Kendall in at QB for the one play. If Jamie wouldn't have been able to go back in, then we would have put Sam (Hartman) in. We've played and practiced that, in case that situation ever came up."

On the Running Game:
"Kenneth (Walker) has the ability to make people miss. There were a lot of plays where he bounced to the outside, but he outruns the perimeter and makes the cut. Kenneth is kind of the home run hitter in the backfield, he makes a lot of big plays. When we run the ball as well as we did, it wears a defense down and it allowed us to take the game over. I really think the play of the game was the 4th-and-1 conversion in the fourth quarter by Cade Carney. Whenever you run for that type of yardage, obviously you're doing something right up front."

Clawson on the Senior Class:
"I've said this many times, and its three things: We want kids that love football, that are committed to graduating, and do the right things on and off the field. We recruit high-character kids, and they work through adversity much better than low-character kids. I think more than anything, what I like about this group is their resilience. A lot of teams that face a two-game losing streak don't know how to handle it. Sometimes, it's hard to enjoy the moment because you're always focused on the next one, but I'm really proud of this group of players."

Wake Forest Redshirt Junior Linebacker Ja'Cquez Williams

On playing for the seniors on Senior Night:
"It's just good to go out there and do it for the seniors. I am putting it all out there on the line because I know they would do [the same] for me"

On feedback from Justin Strnad after filling in for him due to injury:
"
Justin has been my biggest supporter and advocate. He has been telling me what to look for and what to expect."

On the tough rain conditions out on the field:
"You play in the ACC and no matter what the conditions are, you have to go out there and strap it up. It's all in the mental side, it's all in the mind."

Wake Forest Sophomore Kicker Nick Sciba

On breaking the record for most made consecutive field goals in NCAA history:
"I have to go out there and make every kick and give credit to my holder, Dom (Maggio). I have to go out there and do my job. After I made the last kick, I just said 'All the glory to God'."

On making kicks in the rain:
"I have to do my best. I can't let the conditions or records get in my head. [Those are things] that are just trying to make me miss the kick."

Wake Forest Redshirt Junior Defensive Lineman Carlos Basham, Jr.

On being the sixth Demon Deacon to have double digit sacks in a season:
"I felt like I did a lot of work during the offseason with Coach Cohen, a bunch of older guys, and I felt like that carried over to this season and the numbers don't lie."

On the feeling in the locker room today compared to the last few weeks:
"Always after the win the guys are always going to feel good. I think we needed those two games to humble us and guide us to rally as a team and come together. We have two games the rest of the season; we can either make it or break it and the seniors and the captains did a good job this week of getting the younger guys prepared and it showed on the field."

On winning on Senior Day:
"The seniors did a great job over these last few years turning the program around, taking advantage of plays, and not just being the school that people look over, but make them take us seriously. Clawson always tells us that it doesn't matter who you play but how you play and today we stepped up to the challenge."

Wake Forest Redshirt Senior Wide Receiver Kendall Hinton

On getting a snap at quarterback:
"It was just a situation and I decided that when I got my name called to get back in the backfield, I would go and make a play and it worked out. I had a big grin on my face when they called me back there. We practiced it a while back when Jamie was questionable with his shoulder. We had it in the play book and we just waited for that situation when we needed it."

On Cade Carney in the second half:
"Cade does Cade things. Once he gets going, there's not much you can do to stop him. He had a great game today and it was great to see, especially on senior day."

On getting back to the end zone:
"It was great. Jamie gave me a great ball. Didn't know if I was going to get tripped up or not. When I knew I was in the clear, it was surreal to get back in the box."

Duke Head Coach David Cutcliffe

Opening statement:
"I'll say quickly that offensively, we didn't convert third downs and had turnovers. Defensively, we can't tackle right and that's how you give up six or seven yards. We missed on our big, long plays with people open. We didn't get it done and they hit theirs. That's about the difference in the game. Two great plays by Damond (Philyaw-Johnson) and the other guys on the field that were blocking him to open the field for him, but all-in-all, it's a real disappointing loss."

On the loss:
"I just wanted it for them because they fought. I didn't tell them anything after the game other than that I was proud of them for their fight. We'll correct them on Sunday and I feel a burden of responsibility for when you don't tackle well and when you don't convert third downs and we have to be better than that. We've got one game to get try and get things right, so we'll have focus for next week."
