Wake Forest to Offer Military Complimentary Tickets to “Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Classic”

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — On Sunday, November 10, Wake Forest will offer complimentary basketball tickets to active and veteran military members and their immediate families in honor of Veteran's Day for the game against Columbia, which tips off at 2 pm at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Sunday's game is the home season opener for the men's basketball team.
Following the men's game, Wake Forest will offer complimentary tickets to active and veteran military and their families for the women's basketball game. Tip off for the women's game against UNC Greensboro is 5 p.m., also at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
To secure tickets, U.S. veterans of any military service branch, active personnel or their family representatives should visit the marketing table that will be set up in the coliseum lobby on Sunday. Tickets will be available beginning at 12:30 p.m. Military I.D. or proper identification must be presented to receive tickets.
In addition to providing tickets, Wake Forest will recognize veterans and military personnel with announcements during both men's and women's games. There also will be special halftime presentations and recognitions on Sunday.
"Supplying tickets is an opportunity for Wake Forest's basketball teams to thank our country's military heroes," Wake Forest Associate Athletic Director, Strategic Communications and Championships Mike Odom said. "We're incredibly proud to pay tribute to veterans, active duty personnel and their families, all of whom have made great contributions to our country in the name of freedom and democracy around the globe."
