Xavier Head Coach Travis Steele

Opening Statement...
"First and foremost this was obviously a game to honor Skip Prosser who meant so much to Xavier University and Wake Forest. We love playing in this game it's a great game for us. Unfortunately we didn't come out on the right side tonight. I thought we played pretty uninspiring basketball for the first 20 minutes and give Wake Forest credit."

On Chaundee Brown...
"Give credit to Chaundee (Brown). He had a tremendous day. He made some big time shots, he's a big time player but at the same time I don't think our defense was there like it has been to this point."

On first true road game...
"I don't think it affected us a lot. This is what I have seen all year whether it was at home vs Green Bay and Lipscomb or whether we were on a neutral court vs Florida."

On players frustrations of not playing well for a full game….
"It better be really frustrating or else we don't have the right guys in that locker room. I know those guys in there, they're going to have the right response to fix it as a group. It falls on me, it doesn't fall on them. I have to be able to figure this group out and guide the ship the right way through thick and thin."

Wake Forest Head Coach Danny Manning

Opening Statement….
"Terrific ball game when you talk about college basketball this was a game that came to the wire. Fortunately for us it came out the way we wanted it to. I thought that was an outstanding effort between both teams to honor a terrific person and great coach in Coach Skip."

On Chaundee's foot…
"It looked good to me today. When you look at Chaundee's line 26 points and 6 rebounds, he guarded everyone on the court at some point. He was a strong physical presence, he was outstanding and I can say that out everyone that played."

On Ody's (Oguama) poise as a freshman…
"He's figuring it out he has poise and composure to himself. He gets rattled but the thing that so impressive about Ody is that he's one of the players who isn't afraid to ask a question. He's a sponge and he's just growing as he continues to develop with our coaches and puts together and offensive package he's going to be a handful in his upperclassmen years without question."

On the importance of the Skip Prosser classic….
"What we think about Coach Skip is still up on the wall. We still have quotes in our practice gym, you walk in our locker room right now there's a quote. What he's brought to our program, this university, the community not only here but Cincinnati and Xavier. You can't measure the type of person he was, he was a great coach. It's bigger than basketball and that's why the Classic is so important to continue his legacy."
