Grassroots ticket campaign encourages Demon Deacon fans to invite new fans to BB&T Field

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Building off the "I'm A Fan" initiative, the Wake Forest athletic department announced Thursday (Aug. 15) the implementation of the Football Ambassador Program.

The Football Ambassador Program calls upon Wake Forest fans to invite new fans to Wake Forest Football, including members of the community who might not otherwise be able to experience Wake Forest Football and the BB&T Field game day environment. Help support Coach Clawson and our student-athletes by assisting in selling out the Utah State game. This is the second game on the newly created ACC Network and a huge opportunity for the Wake Forest and the Winston-Salem community. This also provides a significant home field advantage for our football team that is experiencing more sustained success than at anytime in our history with the first back-to-back-to-back bowl victories in program history.

"As an extension of grassroots "I'm a Fan" initiative, we are excited to announce the Football Ambassador Program," said Director of Athletics John Currie. "This program provides another opportunity for our fans to help recruit additional fans and provide a home field advantage for our team."

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets in bulk to home football games this season and are encouraged to bring out a group (neighborhood, school, business, etc.) of individuals looking to experience Wake Forest Football. Members of the Deacon Club have already utilized the Football Ambassador Program to purchase tickets for Crossnore School and Children's Home, employees of the Wake Forest Business School and the Heathy Excercise and Lifestyle Program (H.E.L.P.) organization.

"When Wake Forest asked us to be a part of the Football Ambassador Program we were excited to help fill our stadium on game day," said Deacon Club member Rick Maloy. "We love going to the games and this was a great way to help share that experience with the Winston-Salem community. It also allowed us to funnel our charitable giving to a worthy cause, so we bought 40 tickets for the kids of Crossnore and their chaperones to be at the home opener against Utah State. Hopefully others can follow our lead and provide opportunities for other to become Deacon fans!"

As a thank you to the fans for their efforts, Football Ambassadors who reach a certain threshold of tickets purchased will be invited to a lunch or dinner with Director of Athletics John Currie and Head Coach Dave Clawson.
