New “I’m a Fan Zone” Pregame Fan Festival to Debut for Wake Forest Football “Opening Night”

Big Daddy Love Band to Perform Live Beginning at 5:00 PM Outside BB&T Field
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest Athletics today unveiled exciting plans for the new I'm A Fan Zone pregame fan festival area which will debut on Opening Night, August 30, prior to the Demon Deacons' contest with Utah State at BB&T Field.
Featuring free live music, food trucks, the Lowes Food Beer Den and a wide range of activities for fans of all ages, the I'm A Fan Zone will open three hours prior to kickoff in front of McCreary Tower and the landmark Demon Deacon Statue.
"The I'm A Fan Zone is a big step toward our goal of offering the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina and will add even more fun to the gameday atmosphere as Coach Clawson and the Demon Deacons shoot for a fourth consecutive bowl championship season," said Director of Athletics John Currie.
Wake Forest Athletics has teamed with Gears and Guitars, Winston-Salem's annual spring live music festival, to build a great lineup of bands throughout the season beginning with the Big Daddy Love band which will launch the series on Opening Night, August 30 beginning at 5 p.m. Based in Winston-Salem, Big Daddy Love is an Americana band that utilizes its North Carolina mountain roots to incorporate country, folk and bluegrass elements into a distinctive roots-oriented sound.
"Winston-Salem is already known throughout the south as a great live music city and we are proud to partner with Gears and Guitars to entertain new and returning fans alike," said Currie.
The I'm A Fan Zone will also feature giveaways, a pep rally, and the opportunity to ring Wake Forest's Victory Bell. Children will be entertained with inflatable games, balloon artists and face painting. Officially licensed Wake Forest merchandise from a variety of best-in-class brands will be available for purchase. Wake Forest football players will make their traditional Deacon Walk through the I'm A Fan Zone at 5:45 p.m. on their way into BB&T Field prior to taking on Utah State at 8 p.m.
I'm a Fan Zone food truck options for Opening Night will include pizza from Zeko's and fried chicken and sides from Curb Your Appetite along with traditional concession favorites, while the Lowes Foods Beer Den truck will feature cold North Carolina craft beers.

"A loud, festive atmosphere on Opening Night will inspire our student-athletes and coaches to perform at the highest level and will illustrate the passion of Wake Forest, Winston-Salem and the Triad region to the ACC Network broadcast debut audience."
Remaining tickets for the Opening Night game start as low as $20. Season tickets for the 2019 Wake Forest football season are still on sale starting at just $165 for all seven games, and include Big Four foes North Carolina, NC State and Duke at home for the first time since 1921.
