Wake Forest junior Justin McMaster had a goal and assist in the come-from-behind win over No. 4 Clemson.
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Wake Forest junior Justin McMaster was selected as the ACC Offensive Player of the Week for his performances the week of Sept. 23-29, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
McMaster delivered a standout performance in the seventh-ranked Demon Deacons' win over No. 4 Clemson on Saturday night.
Early in the second half, he recorded the primary assist on Machop Chol's goal which tied the game at 1-1.
After the Tigers retook the lead, McMaster found the back of the net in the 85th minute to tie the game once again and send it into overtime.
Less than 90 seconds into overtime, McMaster was pressuring Clemson's back line when their keeper fouled him in the box, setting up the game-winning penalty kick by Aristotle Zarris.
McMaster leads the Deacons with nine points on four goals and an assist, to go along with a pair of game-winning goals.
He is the first Deac to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors this week, though Michael DeShields and Andrew Pannenberg have received Defensive Player of the Week nods.
