WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Registration is now open for the Wake Forest Men's Soccer banquet in celebration of the 2019 season, set for Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in Bridger Field House. The event is open to the public. Individual seats may be purchased for $75 while tables for eight people can be purchased for $450 register by clicking here.
Last year's event had more than 180 attendees. The men's soccer program auctioned off more than 30 items ranging from season tickets to signed framed jerseys of our professional alumni. Included in the registration is a social gathering starting at 6:30, followed by dinner and a program at 7:00. There will be giveaway prizes as well as auction items such as signed jerseys and balls, Wake Forest gear, and pictures with players and the NCAA College Cup Semifinalist Trophy.
This year all auction items will be bid on through an online platform. You do not have to attend the event to bid on any of the exciting items that will be up for auction. Click here to take a look and start bidding.
The event will feature several special guests, including alumni and professional players. Two-time All-American and MLS standout Sam Cronin will be this year's guest speaker. A MAC Hermann Trophy finalist, Cronin won the 2008 Senior CLASS Award. At Wake Forest, he started all 98 games he played in, totaling 17 goals and 19 assists in his four years. He was picked second overall by Toronto FC, and went on to a 10-year MLS career, also seeing time with the U.S. National Team at the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Contact Associate Head Coach Steve Armas at armasas@wfu.edu with questions about the event.
The 2019 Demon Deacons reached the NCAA College Cup for the sixth time of the last 13 years, finishing with an overall record of 16-5-2. Wake Forest has won at least 16 games in all five seasons under head coach Bobby Muuss.
"We look forward to a wonderful celebration of another successful year," Muuss said. "It's always great to cap off the season by bringing the team, alumni and fans together to recognize the accomplishments of the program."
