Wake Forest Track and Field Teams To Compete at Virginia Tech

Wake Forest will head to Blacksburg, Va. this weekend for its first indoor track meet of 2020. The Demon Deacons will participate in the Virginia Tech Invitational at Rector Field House.
The two-day meet begins at 5 p.m. on Friday and will start-up again at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Demon Deacon men's and women's team will be competing against ACC foes Duke, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Virginia. Non-ACC members sending teams include Charlotte, Elon, Howard, Liberty, Tennessee, and VCU.
Wake Forest opened the indoor season on Dec. 8 at the JDL Early Bird Invitational. Sophomore Ethan Roach posted a 21.96 in the 200 meters, the fastest time in that event turned in by an ACC athlete this season. Tony Jones will compete in the high jump at Virginia Tech. He has the ACC's fourth-best jump this season at 2.10m (6'10.75").
Elise Wright, a near-national qualifier in the outdoor 3000m steeplechase in 2019, has the fifth-best 5000 meter time in the ACC at 16:48.48. She will compete in the mile at Virginia Tech.
