WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In conjunction with its yearlong celebration of the 30th anniversary of LJVM Coliseum, Wake Forest will welcome back the 1995 ACC Champion Demon Deacons, one of the greatest and most memorable teams in Coliseum history. The 1995 ACC Champions will be honored during the February 19 game against Georgia Tech.

Players, coaches and staff of the 1994-95 Demon Deacons will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their ACC title in conjunction with the Georgia Tech game. The group will be recognized during a halftime ceremony of the game.

"The 1995 ACC Championship team holds a special place in the heart of every Wake Forest fan who followed that incredible season," Athletic Director John Currie said. "From section 235, row M, seat 1, I saw every one of Randolph Childress's tournament record 107 points and it will be wonderful to have the squad back next month, as the 30th anniversary of the LJVM Coliseum continues. This group of Demon Deacons elevated both Wake Forest and Winston-Salem in the eyes of the ACC and national basketball world."

The 1994-95 Demon Deacons went 26-6 overall, won the ACC regular season title with a 12-4 record and captured the program's first ACC Tournament title in over 30 years. Led by ACC Tournament MVP Randolph Childress, who scored a tournament record 107 points over the three games, the Deacs defeated Duke, Virginia and North Carolina on three consecutive days in Greensboro to take home the trophy. Childress was a first-team All-ACC selection and second-team All-American during his senior season, averaging 20.1 points per game. Sophomore center Tim Duncan also earned first-team All-ACC honors that season in addition to third-team All-America recognition after averaging 16.8 points and 12.5 rebounds that year.

Head Coach Dave Odom won his third ACC Coach of the Year award in 1995, as the team was ranked No. 3 nationally after winning the ACC Championship and earning the program's first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The team, which featured three future NBA players in Childress, Duncan and Rusty LaRue, reached the NCAA Sweet 16.

"Having former players back is always great, especially a team that accomplished as much as the 1995 team," said head coach Danny Manning. "It will be a great moment when they walk back into the Joel and are recognized for their lasting impact on our program. This celebration also gives our current team a chance to spend time with them, hear their stories and learn from their experiences. We appreciate those guys and are happy that they are coming back to Wake Forest."
