Kyle Wilber’s Raiders pick up the big victory while Jessie Bates III has another solid outing for Cincinnati.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - As the NFL season entered its second quarter, several Demon Deacon alumni made their presence felt on the field.
We were treated to a #ProDeacs vs #ProDeacs matchup in Dallas as Joe Looney's Cowboys eked out a win over Alex Bachman and the New York Giants.
Looney was placed on injury reserve after spraining an MCL, but is expected to return to the lineup by Week 8.
Wilber Helps Raiders Defeat Chiefs
On Sunday, Kyle Wilber had one solo tackle in the Raiders' huge road upset of Kansas City, breaking the Chiefs' league-high 13-game winning streak dating back to last season.
In his third season with Oakland and ninth as a pro, Wilber continues to prove himself a valuable veteran in the league.
Bates Shines in Baltimore
As his Cincinnati Bengals faced the Ravens on Sunday, Jessie Bates III logged yet another solid performance, making seven total tackles while finishing with two passes defended.
Having played in over 95 percent of the team's defensive snaps, Bates III has garnered high praise from media outlets for his play this season, including Pro Football Focus which named him to their first quarter All-Pro team. Bates III is on pace to make a career-high 128 tackles this season.
