Nick Sciba Named a Lou Groza Award Star of the Week

Sciba, a Lou Groza Award semifinalist in 2019, connected on 4-of-4 field goals in Wake Forest’s win over Virginia on Saturday.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Wake Forest junior kicker Nick Sciba was a Lou Groza Award Star of the Week, as announced by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award presented by the Orange Bowl on Monday.
The Clover, S.C. native connected on 4-of-4 field goals in the Demon Deacons win over Virginia on Saturday including connecting on a season-long 44-yard field goal.
Last season, Sciba ws a 2019 Lou Groza Award semifinalist. He was also on the 2020 preseason watch list.
In his career, Sciba owns a .877 field goal percentage (50-of-57), which ranks second in ACC history and is a Wake Forest program record.
He comes into the week needing just 73 points to break the Wake Forest record for career points currently held by Sam Swank with 337 career points.
Over the course of 2018 and 2019, he combined to make 34 consecutive field goal attempts, setting a new NCAA record.
