The rising senior from Belgrade, Serbia averaged a team-high 17.2 points last season, ranking fifth in the ACC.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest senior forward Ivana Raca was named a 2020-21 Preseason All-ACC member, as announced Tuesday morning by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Raca, a Belgrade, Serbia native, was named a consensus preseason All-ACC selection by both the ACC Coaches and the Blue Ribbon Panel.
Last season, Raca blossomed into one of the hardest players to stop in the ACC, finishing fifth in the league in scoring with a team-high 17.2 points per game. She got to the free throw line at least once in all but one game and recorded 20 or more points in 11 games including seven against ACC opponents during her breakout junior campaign.
Her numbers helped land her on the All-ACC second team heading into the ACC Tournament. There is where she really made a name for herself, tying a career-high with 27 points and setting a career-high with 13 rebounds in a first-round victory over North Carolina.
She was one of just two Demon Deacons in the last 20 years to have 25-plus points and 10-plus rebounds in an ACC Tournament game (Dearica Hamby).
After helping lead Wake Forest to the quarterfinals of the tournament, Raca earned All-ACC Tournament honors.
She heads into the season ranking 25th in program history with 1,065 points. Raca is on pace to finish her career in the top 10 on the all-time list.
