Hinton thrust into the national spotlight on Sunday afternoon while Bassey records first career interception.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - In Week 12, several Deacs saw action on the field in the Thanksgiving week slate of games.
There was a #ProDeacs matchup in Cincinnati, where Alex Bachman's Giants squeaked out a win over Jessie Bates III, Scotty Washington and the Bengals.
Meanwhile with the Browns, Kevin Johnson made three tackles, helping the team to their third straight win as they improved to 8-3 on the season.
Hinton Goes From Practice Squad To Starter
Kendall Hinton had been signed to Denver's practice squad since November 4 as a wide receiver. That all changed on Saturday when it was announced that all four quarterbacks within the organization were to be ruled out for Sunday's game due to COVID.
Hinton was called up from the practice squad to be the starter at quarterback, quickly becoming the story of the weekend around the NFL. Sunday marked his first snaps under center since his junior year at Wake Forest in 2018.
After the game, Hinton said, "Just getting this opportunity and this experience has been amazing."
He earned the respect of his teammates and countless others across the league for taking on the challenge on 24-hours notice.
Bassey Records First Career Interception
Essang Bassey recorded his first career interception, returning it for 26 yards. It led to a Broncos field goal.
Additionally, Bassey had a pair of tackles and tallied a pass deflection. He now has 21 total tackles and two pass breakups during his rookie season.
