Basham, Sciba and Surratt Named Preseason All-Americans by Phil Steele

The three selections are tied for the most in the ACC among first, second and third team All-American Teams.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The preseason honors continue to roll in for the Wake Forest football team as Monday Phil Steele named three Demon Deacons as preseason All-Americans and six as preseason All-ACC selections.
Junior kicker Nick Sciba earned second team honors while both redshirt senior defensive lineman Carlos "Boogie" Basham Jr. and redshirt junior wide receiver Sage Surratt were placed on the third team. For Surratt, this marks the first preseason All-America nod this offseason while Basham has now been named to six All-America teams and Sciba to five teams.
The three selections are tied for the most in the ACC among first, second and third team All-American Teams.
In 2019, all three players were first team All-ACC selections as a part of a school record 14 All-ACC selections.
Heading into this season, Phil Steele placed both Sciba and Surratt on the preseason All-ACC First Team while Basham was named to the second team.
Redshirt junior offensive lineman Zach Tom and junior linebacker Ryan Smenda Jr. also earned preseason second team All-ACC honors while junior defensive back Nasir Greer was listed as a third team pick by Phil Steele.
