Carlos “Boogie” Basham Jr. is one of just five players in the ACC to make the Lott IMPACT Trophy, Bednarik Award and Nagurski Award watch lists.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the third time this offseason, Carlos "Boogie" Basham Jr. has been named to a national defensive player of the year list.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Charlotte Touchdown Club named the Wake Forest redshirt senior defensive lineman to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List. This is the sixth national watch list a Demon Deacon player has been placed on for the upcoming season.
Basham is one of just five players in the ACC to make the Lott IMPACT Trophy, Bednarik Award and Nagurski Award watch lists.
The Roanoke, Virginia native had an explosive 2019 campaign that saw him finish with a spot on the All-ACC first team. Basham posted 11.0 sacks, the second-most ever in program history. He also recorded 18.0 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles, both which ranked second in the ACC.
Basham comes into the season with 18 consecutive games with a tackle for loss, the longest streak in the country. He is the only player in the country to have a streak longer than 12 games.
