WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- In order to continue to enhance the fan experience for students at Athletics events, Wake Forest has unveiled a new program that will reward students for attending and watching events virtually.
Athletics staff continues to work with health authorities to develop excellent plans to adhere to social distancing requirements and safely host students and fans inside its venues. With that, Wake Forest unveiled an all new program designed to reward students for their support of the Demon Deacons, whether in-person or virtually.
Developed in partnership with FanMaker, which is the nation's leading rewards and loyalty program specialist, the Screamin' Demon Rewards program will provide a dedicated platform for students to engage with Wake Forest Athletics.
The new Screamin' Demon Rewards app is available for both iOS and Android devices and will allow students to digitally check-in when attending events in person, or when watching them virtually. As students attend events, they will earn points, which can then be redeemed in a dedicated prize store for unique prizes, exclusive experiences, and more.
The dedicated app provides students with access to a weekly and season-long leaderboards that show who is attending the most events. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to receive discounts at local Wake Forest Sports Properties partners by showing their Screamin' Demon Rewards App at checkout. Other opportunities for engagement to earn points within the app include exclusive polling and trivia.
Student Tickets Lotteries
When students are permitted to attend events, individuals will be rewarded with additional Dedicated Deac points for arriving early, and staying until the event concludes. Due to capacity limitations to account for social distancing and other health and safety measures, tickets to attend games this fall will be allocated through Screamin' Demon Rewards on a weighted ticket lottery system that will be operated on an individual-game basis.
In order to have access to the lottery and attend games this fall, students must activate their Screamin' Demon Rewards account. The more points a student earns throughout the year, the better chance that individual has to win tickets.
This process will provide Athletics staff flexibility to maximize the number of tickets available to students for each game at all Wake Forest venues.
Entries in the lottery will match the number of Screamin' Demon Rewards points earned to that point. At the time of registration, students will receive bonus points based upon their classification as well as retroactive points for football games attended at BB&T Field during the 2019 season.
For specific sports, such as Wake Forest Football, students will have the opportunity to proceed in the lottery as individuals for individual socially-distanced seats, or link up into pairs for seat selection that would be seated together. A limited number of groups of four seats could also be available in select venues.
Despite not being able to attend events during the month of September for health and safety purposes, students can begin earning points now to prepare for the launch of the first student ticket lottery of the year.
Student Ticket Lottery Timeline
-
Example for a Home Football Game Week
-
Monday:
-
Lottery is launched in the Screamin' Deacon Rewards app.
-
Enter the lottery by clicking the "Enter Lottery'' button in the app.
-
Students will receive the same number of entries as the number of points within their account.
-
Any time after the student has entered the lottery on Monday, but before the drawing on Wednesday, they may select another student who they would like to be paired with for assigned seating. The other person in the pair must accept the pairing request in their app. Once accepted, they become eligible as a pair for the drawing - both winning or both losing.
-
-
Wednesday:
-
The digital drawing is held at 10 a.m. and winning students are awarded tickets.
-
Winning students will receive a notification within the platform and via email. They will be provided the option to accept, decline, or transfer their ticket.
-
Should a student choose to transfer their ticket, it can be sent to any other student who did not receive a ticket in the lottery.
-
That student would then be able to accept the ticket.
-
-
Should they choose to decline, a ticket will be awarded to the next student listed on the lottery standby list (this number is visible to each student who has entered the lottery)
-
Should they choose to accept, their ID number would be activated to provide them stadium access for the game, via the QR code in their app.
-
-
Friday:
-
Transfer/cancel period concludes 24 hours prior to kickoff.
-
Any student who wins a ticket and has not taken action on it yet will have that ticket automatically accepted and activated within their Screamin' Demon Rewards account.
-
-
Saturday:
-
QR codes become live in the SDR app for scanning.
-
If a student has accepted their ticket and then chooses not to attend the game, they will receive a point deduction which will decrease their odds of getting tickets to a future game.
-
In order to maximize the number of tickets available with the number of students in attendance, if a student does not attend the game twice after having accepted a ticket, they will not be able to enter a student ticket lottery for the remainder of the season.
-
Students who attend the game will receive additional points for early entry into the stadium as well as bonus points for staying through the conclusion of the game. The more points earned, the higher the chance of earning tickets through lotteries.
