
Calvin Harris Turning Pro, Signs Generation adidas Contract

The contract allows Harris to be eligible for next week’s MLS SuperDraft after two collegiate seasons with the Demon Deacons.
NEW YORK CITY -- Wake Forest men's soccer's Calvin Harris has signed a Generation adidas contract, Major League Soccer (MLS) announced on Thursday.
Generation adidas is a joint program which sees a handful of top collegiate underclassmen and youth national team players signed by MLS and made available in the SuperDraft.

"From the people behind the scenes helping me academically, to the fans that watch us at the best U.S. college stadium in the country. You have all been a vital part of making my experience at Wake one I will remember for the rest of my life. You will always be a part of me and I wish the team all the best for the future."

"We all have seen him grow so much during his time here in the Black and Gold both on and off the field. Calvin is a tremendous talent, has great passion for the game and a competitive drive that will make him a very successful professional. In two seasons with the Demon Deacons, the Middlesbrough, England, native appeared in 32 games with 25-straight starts, collecting 10 goals and five assists.
During his freshman campaign in 2019, Harris scored six goals including three game-winning strikes to help lead Wake Forest to its sixth College Cup appearance. He earned All-ACC Freshman Team honors for his efforts.
Harris also started all nine games during the fall 2020 season, collecting four goals to go along with two assists. In Wake Forest's season-opening 3-1 victory over Louisville, he tallied an assist on the Deacs' first goal of the year before adding one of his own to be selected as ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
This year's MLS SuperDraft is set to begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21. The event will again be held virtually and can be watched on MLSsoccer.com, the MLS App, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as clubs make their selections.
