Deacs Ready to Shine in Senior Bowl

Carlos “Boogie” Basham Jr., Sage Surratt and Jamie Newman are set to take part in the most cherished college football all-star game.
MOBILE, Ala. -- Three former Demon Deacons are set to take part in the Senior Bowl on Saturday afternoon in Mobile, Ala.
Wide receiver Sage Surratt is on the National Team coached by the Miami Dolphins while defensive end Carlos "Boogie" Basham Jr. and quarterback Jamie Newman are set to compete on the American Team coached by the Carolina Panthers.
This marks the first time in program history that Wake Forest will have three or more representatives in Mobile, Ala.
The game is set for 2:30 p.m., airing on NFL Network.

Boogie's Stock Continues to Rise
Basham Jr. came into the week as the highest rated defensive prospect at the Senior Bowl according to Pro Football Focus. He did not disappoint and actually raised his stock throughout the week, showing his innate ability to get into the backfield.

The Roanoke, Va. native was lauded all week for his ability to beat linemen on the edge and inside, regularly dominating the country's best competition during one-on-one drills. He came out of the week as esteemed NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah's top performer.
