
Wake Forest Bowl Eligible for Program Record Sixth-Straight Season

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest became the first program in the Atlantic Coast Conference to become bowl eligible with its win over Syracuse. Additionally, the Demon Deacons have now extended the conference's third-longest bowl streak to six consecutive seasons.
Wake Forest has experienced sustained success on and off the field as the Deacs are the only FBS program with a 990 APR, 90-plus graduation rate and five or more bowl games under their current head coach.
Wake Forest was the only ACC school to have a player on the John Mackey, Doak Walker, Biletnikoff and Paul Hornung Award Watch Lists during the 2021 preseason.

2021 Game Recaps
- Week 1: Deacons Down Old Dominion in Season Opener, 42-10
- Wake Forest put up six touchdowns en route to a 32-point victory over the Monarchs on Opening Night.
- Week 2: Wake Forest Defeats Norfolk State at Truist Field, 41-16
- The Demon Deacons relied on a balanced offensive attack to control the non-conference matchup with the Spartans, notching 252 yards through the air and 161 yards on the ground.
- Week 3: Wake Forest Tops Florida State in ACC Opener, 35-14
- The Demon Deacons opened the 2021 conference slate in front of an electric atmosphere inside Truist Field that included the largest student crowd since 2006 while forcing a Clawson era record six turnovers.
- Week 4: Wake Forest Earned Road Victory at Virginia, 37-17
- The Demon Deacons offense proved again to be one of the most potent in the country as they scored on their first seven possessions of the game before Wake Forest registered its first punt of the game with 8:30 left in the fourth quarter and a 20-point lead.
- Week 5: Wake Forest Captured Thrilling ACC Victory Over Louisville, 37-34
- Nick Sciba's fourth quarter field goal proved to be the difference for the Demon Deacons in a back-and-forth contest between ACC Atlantic Division rivals.
- Week 6: Resilience, Team Effort Lead Deacs to Road Overtime Win at Syracuse, 40–37
- Redshirt sophomore wide receiver A.T. Perry secured the sixth victory for the Demon Deacons this season with an overtime touchdown catch.

- 2016 Military Bowl:
- Facing No. 23 Temple, Wake Forest was in search of its first bowl win in nine years. With the help of holding the Owls to -20 rushing yards, the Deacs came away with a 34-26 victory in Annapolis, Md.
- 2017 Belk Bowl:
- Trailing 52-48 to Texas A&M with 5:52 left, Wake Forest answered with a 13-play, 69-yard drive, capped off by a 1-yard run by Matt Colburn II to take the lead for good with 2:18 to play in the game. Current LA Rams quarterback John Wolford earned MVP honors with 400 yards passing and four touchdowns.
- 2018 Birmingham Bowl:
- With the help of a career-high performance of 171 receiving yards from wide receiver and current New York Giant Alex Bachman, the Deacs pulled out their third consecutive bowl victory, defeating Memphis, 37-34.
- 2019 New Era Pinstripe Bowl:
- The game against Michigan State garnered 3.8 million viewers on ESPN, which was the highest national TV viewership of any North Carolina bowl team — outpacing the next closest team by more than 1.7 million viewers.
- 2020 Duke's Mayo Bowl:
- It marked the third time in program history the Demon Deacons played in a bowl game in Charlotte with the others coming in the 2017 Belk Bowl and 2008 Car Care Bowl.
- Wake Forest has ranked inside of the top 30 national universities on the U.S. News & World Report list for the last 26 years.
- The Reynolda Campus was named the most beautiful campus in the country during the fall by College Values.
- Wake Forest is also ranked in the top 25 by the U.S. News & World Report for best undergraduate teaching and best value schools.
- The median starting salary of Wake Forest alumni is $55,900 according to U.S. News & World Report.
- The four-level, 87,000 square foot facility provides strength and conditioning facilities for all of Wake Forest's student-athletes. Preliminary site work began in October 2017 and was completed in September, 2019.
- The facility connects to McCreary Field House and the Miller Center. The Sutton Sports Performance Center provides more than 10,000 square feet of dedicated strength and conditioning equipment for football.
- There is also space for strength and conditioning equipment for men's and women's Olympic sports.
- The fourth floor has over 18,000 square feet for football coaches offices, team meeting rooms and a heritage area. Also, over 1,500 square feet comprises a customized nutrition center and it the home of the performance drink called UNBEETABLE, which was developed on the Wake Forest campus.
- The Wake Forest football team had a record-breaking 77 players on the ACC Academic Honor Roll this summer. They were a large part of 289 total Demon Deacon student-athletes, a record for the entire athletic department. 51 percent of the Wake Forest student-athletes made the ACC Academic Honor Roll
- Five Deacs including defensive back Nick Andersen, wide receiver Taylor Morin, defensive back Traveon Redd, kicker Nick Sciba offensive lineman and Zach Tom were named to the All-ACC Academic Team. This marks the fifth consecutive year the Demon Deacons have had four more members on the All-Academic team.
