Demon Deacons Add Two High Level Signees for 2022

Andrew McLauchlan and Boyd Owens signed their national letter of intent Wednesday and are set to join the Demon Deacons in the fall of 2022.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's golf program announced the signing of two future Demon Deacons during National Signing Day on Wednesday.

In Andrew McLauchlan and Boyd Owens, Wake Forest is adding two high-level talents that have excelled as junior golfers. The duo is set to join the Demon Deacons in the fall of 2022.

"Andrew and Boyd will have a big impact on the future of Wake Forest Golf," Coach Haas said. "Both of them love Wake Forest and were willing to believe in this great university during a time when visits were not allowed due to the pandemic. Coach Aaron and I know that we have two young men that will not only be great students, but also two young men that will come in and be ready to play immediately. Go Deacs!"

  • Claimed six top-25 finishes in AJGA events this season

  • Qualifier for the 2021 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship

  • Added a top-25 finish at the Wyndham Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. in June 2021

  • Tied for second at the Rome Junior Classic presented by Piedmont Bank in April 2021

  • Captured the Florida Junior Tour Stone Creek Exempt Major title in 2020

  • Qualified for Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals in 2019 finishing tied for eighth at Augusta National

Boyd Owens | Baton Rouge, La. | Episcopal School

  • Currently ranked No. 36th nationally in the AJGA standings

  • Claimed a top-five finish at the Jack Burke Jr. Invitational in August 2021

  • Added a runner-up finish at the Jones Cup Junior Invitational in December 2020

  • Finished inside of the top five at the Hattiesburg Country Club Junior in June 2020

  • LHSAA Division 3 State Runner Up in Boys Golf

  • Captured the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour title in 2019

  • Tied for 10th at the 100th Louisiana Amateur Championship in 2019 along with future Wake Forest teammate B.J. Rogillio
