Ryan Potter Named Assistant Coach for Team USA at 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup

NORMAN, Okla. - Wake Forest women's golf assistant coach Ryan Potter has been named the Assistant Coach for Team USA at the 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America Tuesday.
Potter follows in the footsteps of head women's golf coach Kim Lewellen, who was named the head coach of Team USA for the 2021 event. Team USA came away with the victory at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. The 2022 event will be held at Golf Club de Genève from July 1–3, 2022, making it the first time the event will be held in Switzerland.
Potter is in his fifth season on the coaching staff for Wake Forest women's golf, joining the program in January 2017. Over his four and a half seasons on the Wake Forest staff, Potter has helped the Deacons win the 2019 ACC Championship, 12 team titles, 15 individual titles, and reach the championship match of the 2019 NCAA Championship. He has coached five All-Americans, 2018 NCAA Champion and 2019 Augusta National Women's Amateur Champion Jennifer Kupcho and 2019 ACC Individual Champion Emilia Migliaccio. Potter came to Wake Forest from Charlotte, where he was the first assistant coach in program history as the 49ers prepared to begin competing in women's golf in 2017-18. Potter also gained experience by serving as the Assistant Director of the First Tee of Tuscaloosa and as an operations intern with the American Junior Golf Association prior to beginning his collegiate coaching career. Potter was a four-year letterwinner at Furman, graduating in 2005 with a degree in History. He received a Master's in Sport Management from Alabama in 2008.
