Davis Earns Freshman All-America Honors from The Athletic

The freshman from Snellville, Ga. finished the season with 7.5 tackles for loss, ranking fourth on the team.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest freshman defensive lineman Jasheen Davis earned Freshman All-America honors from the Athletic, as announced by the publication.
Davis was named to the second-team defense. The Demon Deacons were one of just four programs in the Atlantic Coast Conference to have a representative on the top two teams and one of just three schools to have a defensive player named to the two All-America teams.
During the 2021 season, Davis finished the year fourth on the team in tackles for loss with 7.5 on the season. He also gathered in 4.5 sacks including 1.5 sacks in a breakout performance to start the year against Old Dominion.
For his efforts against the Monarchs in the opening week victory, Davis earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors.
Earning his first career start, Davis made the most of it. He led the Demon Deacons in tackles (nine), tackles for loss (2.5) and sacks (1.5). He also became the first freshman in the Dave Clawson era with 1.5 or more sacks in a single game.
According to Pro Football Focus, Davis had the highest rating (76.2) for an ACC edge defender in week one.
